Arthrosis of the temporomandibular joint
An arthrosis is a degenerative disease of the affected temporomandibular joint. Frequent clinical signs are rubbing or grinding noises that are often accompanied by a restricted movement of the joint. Pain occurs mainly when biting or yawning.
The therapy of osteoarthritis can be very different and can range from physiotherapy to open joint surgery. The symptoms of the patient are always at the foreground of the therapy, as there are some cases in which, radiologically, a severe arthrosis forms, but the patient is almost complaint-free.
