Craniomandibular dysfunction and TMJ disorders
Craniomandibular dysfunction (also known as CMD) is a collective term for different symptoms in the temporomandibular joint extending from the chewing musculature, ligament, joint capsule, discus / joint disc, jawhead and jawbone spine. This collective term is also known as myoarthropathy (abbreviated as MAP) or TMJ-disorders (TMD) (temporomandibular joint disorders).
